The Full Story
Hi, I’m the ginger behind the apron — a redhead, mom of four, wife to a priest, and keeper of four dogs and one very opinionated bird.

After nearly a decade in the funeral industry, my family and I relocated to New York, and I shifted from a structured career to the beautiful chaos of stay-at-home mom life. While I loved being home with my children, I missed the sense of community, structure, and purpose that came with working.

One day, I stumbled across the world of sourdough and decided to give it a try. From the very first batch, something just clicked — the process was grounding, creative, and deeply satisfying.

What began as a small personal project quickly grew into This Ginger Has Snapped Bakery — a way to connect with my community, share homemade goodness, and rediscover that spark of independence. I started with cookies and seasonal treats, then expanded into sourdough loaves.

The name says it all — I’m a ginger who snapped in the best way possible. Baking became my outlet, my therapy, and my contribution back to the world, one loaf and cookie at a time.

Every item is baked from scratch right here in Shoreham, NY, under New York’s home-processor laws. My goal is to grow locally through farmers markets, scheduled pickups, and by filling homes with the smell (and taste) of something fresh from the oven.

If you love homemade treats baked with heart, humor, and a touch of red-headed rage — welcome. You’re in the right place. 🖤
